Aftermarket wheel sizes and ofset to fit '57's

I can give info on what offsets, tires and wheel sizes to fit stock and slightly modified 57's. I go to the max with mine so, you can scale down the tire sizes for stock fenderwell.

I have used from 15"s to 20"s  on my cars.

    A 15x8 with 5 1/4"backspace and up to 275 /60 15, with rolled rear fenderwell lip and slight clearancing.    15x7" rears use 4 1/2 inch with 275/60/15 or 255/60/15.

17x8 with 5" backspace American Torque Thrust lls with 255/60/17's works great.  I use 17x7's in the front with a 4" backspace for the front with a 245/45/17 tire.

I roll the rear fender lip(with hammer and dolly) and do some clearancing with hammer on the inner rear fenderwells where tires might touch.  You can see where they touch after driving.  Porta-power helps alot.

I have 18x8's front and 20x10's rear on my sedan now, but had to mini-tub and squeeze the frame rails in. Major work , but I got the look I wanted.

Re: Aftermarket wheel sizes and ofset to fit '57's

Hi there, I have a basically stock (except for 302/C4 and Granada disks) custom 300 with side trim changed to look like a basic Custom.

Looks much like the pictures of your cars. As you suggested, I'm thinking of going with 17x8 with 5" back space and 17x7 with 4" backspace. Just wondered if any of the "1957ford.com" pictures of your cars are posted with this wheel and tire combo. For example:

UNDER Models/ 70A CUSTOM TUDOR SEDAN (on the left side in page 3)

    Are these the 17" wheels?

    Thanks

Some of the pictures under the models section have shots of my car when it had 17's. I have the 17's off it on my wagon now.  I went up to a 275/50/17 Nitto tire on the back now.  It fits the stock rear fenderwell with the inner lip folded smooth.   I don't have any good pictures of it though.
